Press Releases
| Promising start to registrations: An even better event is to follow the most successful VISION – Focus on system integration It was the best VISION of all times: 323 exhibitors and more than 6,700 visitors from approximately 60 countries came to Stuttgart in 2010. A record result for VISION 2010, which for the first time exceeded the 300 mark for exhibitors. This upward trend is also set to continue for VISION 2011, which is taking place once again in Stuttgart from 8 – 10 November. “The current registration figures are promising and suggest that the recovery in the economy and the machine vision industry will also have an impact on VISION”, states Florian Niethammer, Project Manager for VISION, with confidence. “I expect this year we will once again surpass the excellent result of VISION 2010, both in exhibitor and visitor figures.”
The international trade fair for machine vision has become over the 24 years of its existence the undisputed leading global trade fair. The key players in the industry meet once a year at VISION. On over 20,000 square metres of exhibition space in trade fair halls 4 and 6, the entire spectrum of components, complete systems and innovative solutions from the machine vision industry will once again be showcased. This primarily includes cameras, sensors, frame grabbers, illumination, laser, optics, lenses, software, and service offerings.
The interest in complete solutions has risen significantly. Almost every fourth visitor was on the search for turnkey machine vision systems, according to the visitor survey results of the last VISION. Approximately 25 percent of visitors also classified themselves as end users. In order to cope with this demand, VISION 2011 will set up three areas for this customer base: the integration area as a platform for system integrators and solution providers; the application park which presents practical handling, automation, packaging and labelling applications, as well as the user seminars for the practical communication of machine vision know-how.
Young, innovative companies from Germany are also coming to VISION 2011 thanks to the sponsorship of the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology (BMWi). The BMWi is represented with a group stand and assumes 80% of the trade fair costs of the young companies. Foreign exhibitors who have never before been present at VISION, have a renewed opportunity to get to know the trade fair and present their innovative products and services on an “International Pavilion” set up especially for them.
As part of the framework programme the Industrial VISION Days with its range of daily presentations plays a key role as an indispensable information platform for visitors. The scope of the presentations ranges from the latest developments to user presentations. VDMA Machine Vision, who is also a professional and conceptual supporter of VISION, guarantees the professional quality of Industrial VISION Days. The VISION Award has also made a name for itself and will be presented for the 19th time. This award recognises excellent machine vision solutions.
VISION has already been receiving wide support from the international associations European Machine Vision Association (EMVA), Automated Imaging Association (AIA) and the Japan Industrial Imaging Association (JIIA), who together with Messe Stuttgart, are promoting the international character of the leading global trade fair. |
| LASYS increases number of visitors & international character 3,870 specialist visitors came to the second LASYS, international trade fair for system solutions in laser material processing, which took place from 8 to 10 June 2010 in Stuttgart. Satisfactory: In spite of the still tense economic situation, more interested parties attended the event than two years ago (2008: 3,444). The 186 exhibitors, of which 38 percent came from outside Germany, showcased laser manufacturing systems for micro and macro material processing, processes (laser applications, product solutions), as well as system periphery and components of laser production technology. The catchment area for LASYS has continued to expand in comparison to the first event. A total of 40 percent of visitors travelled more than 300 kilometres to the event. The visitors came from 39 countries. Switzerland came in 1st place, followed by France and Italy. The percentage of visitors coming from outside of Germany rose from 24 to 30 percent, which also included many foreign visitor delegations. “We are pleased that even in these hard times we managed to more or less retain the number of exhibitors and increase the number of visitors and international character”, commented Meike Mayer, Project Manager of LASYS, on the result.
The visitors came predominantly from the area of mechanical engineering, followed by the automotive industry, optics industry, metal processing industry, as well as plant and apparatus construction, electrical/electronics industry and medical technology. Almost all industries were represented. The visitors were interested in processing metallic and non-metallic materials, as well as composite materials. Solutions for processing steel, aluminium and plastic were asked for most frequently. Every second visitor wanted information on laser production systems for micro material processing or precision technology. There was also large interest, however, in laser production systems for macro material processing, processes such as laser applications and product solutions, process control and quality assurance, as well as system periphery and components of laser production technology. The quality of LASYS visitors was high 83 percent of them are involved in the purchasing and procurement decisions in their company. The intentions of visitors to invest and purchase were on par with those of the previous event: 78 percent of those surveyed definitely or probably want to invest every second person wants to do so in the next six months.
This tendency is also confirmed by the exhibitors: “We were able to conduct good discussions at the stand and the specific project requests suggest that there will be activity in the economy again and an upturn is possible”, confirms Dr.-Ing. Gerd Schöllhammer, Marketing Manager, Communication/Trade Fairs at Trumpf Laser- und Systemtechnik GmbH in Ditzingen. “Against this background we are optimistic that good post trade fair business is approaching. We were also able to identify a growth in the number of foreign visitors.”
LASYS 2012 will take place again from 19 to 21 June 2012 in connection with O&S, the international trade fair for surface treatments and coatings. |
