iAMP-500 – The Programmable Current Amplifier - Converting Small Currents!
With our in-house iAMP current amplifiers we at LASER COMPONENTS are expanding not only our range of products available for delivery but our on-site production as well.
The programmable iAMP-500 is designed for the frequency range up to 700 kHz. The amplification can be adjusted between 102-1011 V/A, which makes it perfectly suited for applications that require the conversion of small currents into a manageable output voltage.
If necessary, the input signal can be switched from AC to DC coupled. All parameters can be entered using both a keypad and a digital interface. The compact, EMC-compatible housing allows application directly next to the source. The source can tap the required bias voltage in the range from -10 V to +10 V directly out of the iAMP-500.
With its very high, low-noise amplification range and easy operation, the iAMP-500 is equally suited for use as a preamplifier and an output amplifier. It can be used as a universal laboratory amplifier, pulse amplifier, preamplifier for lock-ins, A/D converter, and automatic measurements.

A New Benchmark in Photon Counting
Highest quantum efficiency and record-breaking dark count rates were the requirements for the photon counting modules produced in-house - and our developers met these expectations. Laser Components formed a strategic partnership with PicoQuant GmbH to develop photon counting modules of the highest quality.

The new COUNT photon counting modules achieve an unrivaled quantum efficiency of over 70% in the red region. Another advantage of these photon counters over modules currently available on the market is their significantly higher quantum efficiency in the blue spectral range.

The COUNT series is based on a silicon Geiger-mode APD developed specifically for this series. It is one of the lowest-noise APDs on the market. Together with electronics that has been optimized down to the smallest detail, this APD represents the heart of the COUNT module. Starting October 2010, standard modules are available with dark count rates ranging from 20 to 250 counts. Modules with <10 cps [counts per second] are available upon request.

These modules either come with an easy-to-use FC connection for optical fibers that have a core diameter of up to 105 µm or as a free-beam module. Thanks to its compact housing and plug & play compatibility, replacing existing photon counters with the COUNT module is easy as 1, 2, 3!

Eye-Safe 1550nm Pulsed Laser Diodes
The innovations of the new 1550nm pulsed laser diode can be summed up in two points. For one, systems into which this PLD has been integrated still fall under laser safety class 1. and two, the wavelength is not visible with standard night vision equipment.
The proven technology of the 905nm PLDs was used in the new 1550nm pulsed laser diodes manufactured by LASER COMPONENTS Canada. A laser diode chip contains several epitaxially integrated emitters. With two emitters the new 155G1S2J02x achieves output power of 5W @ 150 ns, dc = 0.1% at an emitter size of only 50 µm x 7 µm, making it the perfect match for our 80 µm InGaAs APD. The 1550nm pulsed laser diodes are best suited for use in military laser rangefinders and identification friend or foe (IFF) systems.
The wide operating temperature range from -45°C to +85°C and the excellent temperature stability guarantee.
