Integrated High-speed Camera + Digital Microscope – VW-9000
The KEYENCE VW-9000 High-speed Microscope is one of the most versatile tools available for any manufacturing or inspection application. This fully-integrated system incorporates a built-in light source, LED monitor, analysis software and PC components and can be used not only for standard high-speed applications, but doubles as a digital microscope for inspection and development work.

With a newly re-designed CMOS sensor, the VW-9000 is capable of recording high-speed processes at up to 230,000 frames per second and can capture video for up to 13 hours. Conventional high-speed camera systems require several pieces of external equipment during operation (external light sources, separate PC and monitor, etc.) and can take several hours to set up properly. Since the VW-9000 is an all-in-one system, all of the necessary components are built-in to the unit, and it can be set up and ready to operate in just a matter of minutes.

The controller supports both color and monochrome cameras making it ideal for any application. The advanced interface simplifies the setup procedure, making the unit ideal for novice users. High-speed recording is automatically played back in slow motion, allowing real-time adjustments during setup. A new Motion Graph function is able to graphically display changes in a target’s movement, reducing the amount of time needed to search for events of interest within a video.

Recorded footage can be edited and analyzed directly on the controller. The VW-9000 automatically tracks moving objects in recorded footage to quantify speed, acceleration, distance, angle, and other measurements. An Error Monitoring function can also automatically analyze repetitive movements to determine when an abnormal event occurs.

The VW-9000’s compact design contains the functionality to perform both macro and micro imaging. High-resolution KEYENCE Digital Microscope lenses can be used with the VW-9000 for greater magnification. Observation time can be significantly reduced with a large depth of field, ideal for targets with irregular surfaces. Lighting adapters and image optimization functions help eliminate the need for complex adjustments and allow low-contrast and highly-reflective targets to be viewed in high detail.

Perform Profile and Roughness Measurements on Nearly Any Material – VK-X Series 3D Laser Scanning MIcroscope
The new KEYENCE VK-X Series 3D Laser Scanning Microscopes combine the capabilities of SEMs and non-contact roughness gauges with the simplicity of an optical microscope. This newly released system now boasts an unprecedented 0.5 nanometer Z-axis resolution with a magnification range spanning 200x – 24,000x. The usability and ease-of-use have been further improved with the addition of the AI-Scan function, allowing users to image and measure a target with just a click of the mouse.

With high-resolution color imaging and nanometer-level profile measurement functions, the VK-X Series Laser Scanning Microscopes have been designed to overcome the inadequacies of conventional imaging and profiling technologies. A short-wavelength laser scans across a target to provide non-contact profile, roughness and thickness measurements, even on targets with highly-angular surfaces. By combining the laser with an industry-leading, 16-bit photomultiplier, the VK-X can obtain an image and measurement on nearly any type of material, as well as thickness measurements on transparent films and coatings.

In order to simplify the operation of the VK-X, the AI-Scan function was developed to automate the scanning process. Users can simply place their sample on the stage, and by clicking a single button, the system will automatically adjust the sensitivity of the photomultiplier, set the upper and lower limits of the scan range and re-scan the target as needed to make sure all of the necessary information was captured. By using this function, even inexperienced users can quickly and easily obtain accurate measurement data and high-resolution images.

Additional features include a new WIDE-Scan function that is 8x faster than conventional laser scanning microscopes, while also improving the quality of the captured image. A high-speed auto-focus algorithm has been incorporated into the system, and images can be captured at up to 21.6 megapixels. All of the measurement functions from our previous VK Series product line have been extended to the VK-X, including the ability to measure the thickness or profile/roughness of transparent materials.

VHX-1000 Digital Microscope: High-performance Imaging with Precision Measurement
The new VHX-1000 Digital Microscope from KEYENCE represents the fusion of high-performance digital microscopy with precision measurement. Quick, accurate measurement and observation for the most challenging applications are rapidly becoming standard requirements for an observation system. The integration of advanced technology into a powerful, all-in-one unit launches microscopy into the next generation. The new VHX-1000 Series features the world's first, real-time, 16-bit imaging resolution that makes subtle color differences visible, and optimizes areas that are too dark or too bright to see. The brightness range has been increased from the previous 256 levels to 65,536 levels, making even low-contrast targets easily observed. Likewise, the 3CCD color clarity has increased from 16 million to over 2.8 trillion colors.

The VHX Series Digital Microscope was designed to alleviate the shortcomings of traditional, optical light microscopes - shallow depth-of-field, short working distance, lack of portability and versatility, sample limitations, etc. By integrating advanced zoom optics with a CCD camera, 17" LCD monitor, light source, controller and analysis/reporting software, the VHX streamlines testing and improves the speed and efficiency of the inspection process.

The VHX-1000 enables a wide range of microscopic observation from macro-scale stereoscopic imaging to the detailed analysis of an SEM, with a magnification range from 0.1x - 5000x. Many lighting techniques are also supported including bright and dark field, transmitted, polarized, and differential interference observation.

Advanced sensor technology coupled with microscopy/optical design and application expertise, has resulted in a revolutionary technology known as the DOUBLE'R automatic lens/zoom recognition system. The VHX recognizes, in real time, which lens is mounted to the camera, as well as the current magnification. Calibration adjustment is automatic with magnification changes and eliminates measurement errors associated with conventional optical microscope equipment.

The VHX-1000’s extraordinarily large depth-of-field is at least 20 times greater than conventional microscopes. Combined with an Accurate DFD (Depth from Defocus) function, the new VHX generates fully-focused images of virtually any sample. A compact camera includes a pixel-shift actuator, achieving sharp, high-resolution images of up to 54 million pixels. A new graphics engine allows texture expression and color reproduction similar to observation with the naked eye.
