| Iridian Now Offers: Optical Filters for Flow Cytometry
Iridian, the leader in optical filter solutions, now offers filters for flow cytometry. Our standard filter solutions are compatible with common excitation sources and fluorophores but we specialize in customized filter solutions.
Iridian’s dichroic and emission filters provide more signal with less background to flow cytometry instrument users and OEMs. Our dichroic (FLD) and emission (FLE) filters optimize the discrimination of light emitted from different fluorophores in the optical path of multi-colour flow cytometers. They provide:
• High transmission/reflection levels
• Low ripple
• Steep edges
• Deep blocking outside of pass band
These filter features eliminate background excitation and overlap of emission signals from different fluorophores while maintaining high channel signal, leading to improved data capture and analysis. | New from Iridian: IR Band-Pass Filters for Gas Detection
Iridian Spectral Technologies Ltd, a leading global supplier of optical filters, has now made available band-pass filters (BPFs) for use in gas detection applications in the infrared (IR). This new offering expands Iridian’s industry leading capabilities in design and manufacture of optical filters for spectroscopy from Raman and fluorescence applications into the growing need for gas sensing in the IR.
Iridian’s new IR gas BPF capabilities provide narrow, high transmission band-pass filters in the 2-6 um wavelength region enabling optical systems to detect the presence and concentration of gases of interest in environmental or process analysis applications.
• Discrete detection of IR spectra for common gases

| Iridian announces large form factor NVIS filter capability
Ottawa, Canada, January 16, 2009 – Iridian Spectral Technologies Ltd, a leading global supplier of optical filters, today announced the availability of large-form factor optical filters up to 320mmx240mm in size with excellent uniformity. One immediate application is with Night Vision display systems (NVIS filters).
The new NVIS filter capabilities provide filters used in conjunction with night vision glasses. The short-pass functionality allows visible light from display panels to be transmitted while eliminating any IR that would compromise the night vision glasses.
Iridian can accommodate coatings on either customer supplied substrates or on substrates provided to meet customer specifications.
Iridian is a specialist in custom filter solutions and has developed the new family of filters in response to customer demand for high performance large-form factor filters at an affordable price. The filters meet MIL specifications for environmental testing and mechanical durability. They are also RoHS compliant.
