IMPEX HighTech GmbH

Company Description
Impex HighTech GmbH offers you a wide range of products in the fields of
optics, crystals and lasers. The core business of the company is the growth of
Sapphire material for domes, high pressure tubes, high temperature windows and
other optics made from this unique material. Other optical materials like laser
crystals can be grown as well and are used in the companie's own laser
developments. The ability to diffusion bond laser crystals like Nd:YAG to saturable
absorber material like Cr4+:YAG is used in the main laser products, which results
in monolithic and highly reliable pulsed laser systems for the industry and
research.
Impex HighTech has serveral years of experience in producing its own real monolithic, passively q-switched lasers (Nd:YAG / Cr4+:YAG). They operate at 1064 nm and 532 nm with > 250 µJ, repetition rates of several kHz and pulse widths of few nanoseconds. To complete the product range Impex offers also continuous wave (CW) lasers (longitudinal multimode or single frequency) at 1064 nm and 532 nm.

IMPEX HighTech - YOUR RIGHT CHOICE -
The company IMPEX HighTech was founded 1995 as a university spin-off and is privately held till today. Starting with crystal growth, processing of sapphire and doped / undoped YAG only, we enlarged our processing abilities tremendously in the past. Now we are producing a broad range of optical elements for UV – VIS – IR applications. Our range of products contains all commonly used materials. Ranging from A like Al2O3 (Sapphire) up to Z like ZnSe.
crystals – optics – lasers

Crystals:
Laser crystals, saturable absorber crystals and non-linear crystals for different applications have always been the main elements of our delivery program. IMPEX also offers bonded Laser chips consisting of Nd:YAG as the laser active material and Cr4+:YAG functioning as a saturable absorber. These monolithic laser chips are very easy to use and offer excellent pulsing stabilities. The cooperation with selected partners enables IMPEX to supply nearly all commonly used laser crystals. These are grown with modern crystal growth equipment of the highest technical level. Because of that we can deliver laser crystals and other optical crystals based on customer requirements.

Optics:
We offer a broad range of optical components like plane, concave and convex elements. Spherical mirrors and lenses can be created with any radius of optical surface curvative. The optical department of the company has all the technical equipment needed for manufacturing high-accuracy ground and pol-ished optics. Our coating facility allows us to supply high quality dielectric coatings as specified by the customer. Our coatings can be designed for any wavelength depending on customers needs. In addition to the crystalline materials we have most of the commonly used glasses on stock. Highly desired are the ZnSe windows and lenses for the far IR spectral range, as used in CO2 Lasers. For UV applications our CaF2 material is often used because of its low insertion losses and high damage thresh-old.

Lasers:
IMPEX HighTech offers a wide range of DPSS - Laser systems. Single frequency CW - Lasers as well as passively q-switched systems are available. All systems are individually produced in different configurations depending on our customers needs.
One of our newest developments is a frequency tripled, passively q-switched Nd:YAG – laser system. It creates UV (355 nm) pulses in the nanosecond regime and offers all the advantages known from passively q-switched solid state lasers. It is very compact, cost effective and robust.

Sapphire Components:
Sapphire is an ideal material for optical uses due to its excellent transmission from UV to the IR wavelength range, and rugged durability under even the harshest of conditions. IMPEX offers large area custom fabricated sapphire components with high precision surface finish on >200 mm diameter or even 200 mm x 300 mm surfaces with minimum wavefront distortion available in prototype through production quantities.

Key products for large area sapphire components including military applications such as windows for unmanned air vehicles, targeting pods, domes, sensor arrays shields and many other. Other typical applica-tions are aerospace windows, deep sea technology, pressure vessel windows, safety windows in oil & gas exploration and chemical industry.
