LED with Continuous Spectrum from 400 nm to 750 nm
IMM Photonics presents a newly developed LED featuring a continuous spectrum from 400 nm to 750 nm.

Due to their internal design, standard white LEDs have a gap in the spectrum between 400 nm and 450 nm as well as around 500 nm. The new WISPEC-LED now sets out to close this gap.

Combined, the four chips that have been joined together on one compact LED deliver very homogenous white light. Depending on the application, the light can be individually adjusted because the chips can be controlled independently from one another. For example it is possible to generate “Cool White” with a colour temperature of > 7.800 K. A CRI (Colour Rendering Index) value > 90 can be realized as easily as a lighting current of >130 lm. A colour mixing stick (optional) will allow for homogenous localized and spectral light distribution.

Due to pulse-width modulation (PWM), the LED is also dimmable by a ratio of 1:400 without changing its colour temperature.

The WISPEC-LED has been specially developed to replace halogen lamps, but is also used for applications such as microscope lighting or colour measurement. An additional advantage: Infrared radiation, which has detrimental effects on many applications is not an issue with the WISPEC-LED.

ilumspec - Spectrometer with Exchangeable Light Source Modules
Featuring a spectral resolution of < 2 nm, the spectrometer ilumspec, developed by IMM Photonics, covers the range of wavelengths between 360 nm and 1040 nm. The measurement accuracy is < +/- 0.5 nm. The repeat accuracy is < +/- 0.2 nm

Distinctive feature: The light source modules integrated in the spectrometer can be individually assembled and easily replaced by the user. Thus it is simple to operate, for example, a high-power LED white light source and a laser reference source at the same time, or to perform a recalibration of the spectrometer.

Light conductors guide the light from the sources to the probe and recirculate the useful optical signal to the spectrometer ilumspec. In order to protect the light conductors from damage in field use they are run along the inside of a metal corrugated tube and end in a compact measuring head.

The spectrometer is controlled and supplied with power via a USB interface. The software turns the light sources on and off, and modulates them individually. In order to regulate the intensity, pulse-width modulation (PWM) is implemented as a standard.

The operation-ready light source modules, which are designed for light conductors with 2.5 mm standard ferrule, can also be used externally – such as for specific lighting solutions.
For such purposes IMM Photonics offers separate module holders.

The IMM spectrometer is also used in the fields of spectroscopy, microscopy and spectroradiometry (e.g. colorimetry of textiles and paints) as well as in bioanalytics (e.g. analysis of biological and clinical chemical substances) and in environmental engineering (e.g. analysis of contaminations).

Wavelength-Stabilized Laser Diode Modules for Biophotonic Applications
Green laser diodes which have recently been introduced to the market are an additional type of diode substitute for conventional gas-discharge lasers and solid-state lasers. The green laser diodes emit at 515 nm and are therefore — together with 488 nm laser diodes — an alternative to the common argon ion laser.

IMM Photonics offers a wavelength-stabilized laser diode module suitable for both diodes. The wavelength can be stabilized to approx. +/- 0.01 nm. The optical power output is between 10 mW and 60 mW at 488 nm and between 10 mW and 40 mW at 515 nm. Cylindrical and square models are available.

There are a huge variety of applications in biophotonics for both modules. They are used, for example, in laser confocal microscopy, in flow cytometers, with DNA sequencers and with FRET.

In addition, we also offer wavelength-stabilized laser diode modules with 375 nm, 395 nm, 405 nm, 445 nm, and 473 nm. The laser diode module can be designed according to customer specifications (defined beam profile).
