Hellma Materials grows the world’s largest Calcium Fluoride Crystal at 440 mm diameter
Hellma Materials has recently grown the largest diameter Calcium Fluoride crystal in the world at their corporate manufacturing facility in Jena, Germany. This high-quality, 440 mm diameter CaF2 crystal will enable optical designers to create the next generation instruments for the large telescopes including the Giant Magellan Telescope (GMT), Thirty Meter Telescope (TMT) and the European-Extremely Large Telescope (E-ELT).
