(April 4, 2010) Bandon, ORE – HARDIN OPTICAL expands its precision optics manufacturing capabilities with the latest in single point diamond turning technology. The company announces the recent acquisition and integration of multiple ultra precision Diamond Turning work stations from Moore Nanotechnology.

Features of the new work stations include:
a) Designed for fabricating "precision-engineered" components,
b) Optimized for superb cutting performance at significantly increased feed rates,
c) Up to 3 axes of continuous path motion.

What this means for Hardin’s customers is:
a) A broader range of capabilities,
b) Rapid prototyping,
c) Production of large diameter freeform optics,
d) Improved precision,
e) Improved operational efficiency,
f) Higher production runs,
g) Rapid delivery times.

Dave Valleli, one of Hardin Optical’s Product Engineers notes: “Our customers need high volume high precision optics for unique imaging products. This new system will provide customers cost-savings and faster turnaround times”.

Adds Michael Hardin, General Manager, “The acquisition of these work stations and our state of the art metrology equipment positions us to meet industry demands for volume and quality in precision infrared optics”.

The company will attend and exhibit at SPIE’s DEFENSE, SECURITY, and SENSING Show in Orlando, Florida April 6-8, 2010. The company will be located in Booth # 3400.
