Recently, GAMDAN tested its standard LBO product to find it had one of the lowest IR absorption, less than 1.5 ppm/cm by Photo-Thermal Common-Path Interferometry (PCI), of any crystal ever tested by the highly reputable testing laboratory, Stanford Photo-Thermal Solutions. This relative absorbance level was confirmed by a large local laser manufacturer. The longevity test for the LBO is ongoing, but it has already exceeded 4x (2,000+ hours at a single spot) the typical longevity of LBO for a high intensity beam.
GAMDAN’s BBO is of comparably impressive quality, and can be fabricated of large sizes. GAMDAN’s KTP, grown by the hydrothermal process, is also of exceptional purity and uniformity.
The founder of GAMDAN, Sitai Lin, drove the Chinese team that grew the first BBO crystals in 1985. Since then, she has come to the States, refined her craft, and built the production lines for several crystal growing companies. With GAMDAN, she has gathered together an extraordinary team to establish a company of her own.
