Press Releases
| Live Fluorescence Lifetime Spectrometer Demo and First US Showing of Mini TEA CO2 Laser At Photonics West Edinburgh Instruments, Photonics Division, Livingston, UK, 13 December 2011; Visitors to the SPIE Photonics West exhibition will be able to see a live demonstration of the fully integrated LifeSpec II fluorescence spectrometer from the Photonics Division of Edinburgh Instruments. The new generation MTL-5 Mini TEA CO2 Laser will also be on show.
Designed for both fundamental research and routine laboratory applications, the LifeSpec II utilises Time Correlated Single Photon Counting for the measurement of fluorescence lifetimes from a single measurement. Its novel optical design produces zero temporal dispersion, allowing the instrument to measure ultra-fast decays down to 5 ps. This fully automated spectrometer will be equipped with a high repetition-rate picosecond laser for the show, and visitors will be able to see profiles build live on screen, thanks to the integrated ultra-fast data acquisition and analysis software.
The recently announced MTL-5 Mini TEA CO2 Laser features a compact, remote laser head which makes it ideally suited to a wide range of scientific and specialist applications. Developed in response to customer feedback, the MTL-5 is much quieter than previous models and has a number of features designed to enhance performance. These include full spectrum tuning without the need for alignment correction, built-in shot counter for real-time usage monitoring; improved displays and a robust, long-life HT umbilical between the power supply and the laser head.
