The US Patent Office has given approval to issue the patent for ESDI's innovative HyperPhase Module. This complex optical module is an ESDI invention which allows both the Intellium H2000 Fizeau Interferometer and Intellium Point-Diffraction Interferometer to be truly vibration insensitive. Others may claim it, but only ESDI can provide it. "ESDI's leadership in interferometry technology is clearly documented by this patent approval," states Don Pearson, ESDI's Director of Sales & Marketing. Once again, ESDI is "Redefining the Standard" for vibration insensitive interferometry.

Intellium™ H2000 Fizeau Interferometer
The Intellium™ H2000 interferometer from ESDI is a new type interferometer that is capable of taking measurements in the presence of vibrations and other environmental disturbances with virtually no compromise. Driven by ESDI’s proprietary HyperPhase module, the H2000 captures multiple phase-shifted interferograms simultaneously. Traditional phase-shifting interferometers acquire multiple interferograms sequentially over time to create a single wavefront map of the part under test. The time involved to make the measurement allows vibration, mechanical drift, or air thermal currents to introduce errors. The H2000’s simultaneous acquisition of multiple phase-shifted interferograms removes the time factor and provides total vibration insensitivity. Additionally, the H2000 utilizes high-speed cameras allowing it to capture and record events as fast as 10 microseconds making it ideal for characterizing adaptive optics, measuring fluid flow, capturing thermodynamic events and monitoring atmospheric phenomena.

Ideally suited for production floors and other harsh environments, the Intellium™ H2000 offers uncompromised accuracy and unprecedented versatility in characterizing molded or machined parts, disks, wafers, large and small optics and various optical or mechanical assemblies. The H2000 is compact, lightweight and rugged. It is the most portable instrument in its class and can be easily integrated into larger measurement systems. Because the H2000 is based on a traditional Fizeau interferometer design, industry standard Fizeau accessories may be utilized with it.
