Optical glass light pipes – Precision-molded for quality and economy
Light pipes are becoming increasingly popular as a means of homogenizing, conducting and reshaping light for use in a wide range of optical equipment and assemblies. For example, light pipes are now used in modern beamers as well for state-of-the-art solar energy and LED applications. Especially when it comes to sourcing larger volumes of these optical components, every OEM is confronted with the problem of finding a supplier that has not only the requisite in-depth experience, but also the resources it takes to produce light pipes economically no matter what the shape or volume required.

A world leader in the production of molded optical glass spheres, aspheres, arrays and free-form lenses, Docter Optics uses proprietary technology that makes it possible to produce light pipes in virtually any shape and size on a large scale. Docter Optics customers benefit from the experience and expertise of exceptionally qualified optical designers and engineers, and our in-house mold-making facility and industry-leading molding technology combine to guarantee consistently high product quality.

The Docter Optics array of services also includes the development and production of custom light pipes with a high slenderness ratio. Of course, it goes without saying that Docter Optics can deliver light pipes with not only plano but also with ellipsoid, cylindrical, parabolic or other flange that can considerably simplify assembly.

Customers can also order light pipes produced with conventional technology since Docter Optics has its own advanced facilities for grinding, polishing and coating all types of optical components.

The company ships to OEMs and their suppliers throughout the world and is in compliance with international quality-management standards.
