| Vacuum Sealed Fiber Optic Assemblies CeramOptec's vacuum sealed fiber optic assemblies transmit UV, Visible and NIR optical energy in and out of vacuum environments. The fibers are continuous through the vacuum seal to ensure zero insertion loss. All of the vacuum sealed fiber optic assemblies are helium leak tested and certified at 10-9 cm³/sec torr. Before vacuum sealed fiber optic assemblies were implemented, light sources with focusing optics had to be mounted outside of the vacuum chamber. This technique resulted in a large degree of losses and negated the ability to aim with any precision. Standard configurations with fiber from 50-2000 µm Standard configurations for CeramOptec's vacuum sealed fiber optic assemblies include fiber from 50 µm to 2000 µm core/silica/silica fibers or fiber bundles with any number of fibers available. The standard flange is an aluminum HPS NW40 type or a 3/8 inch OD x 2 inch long SS-303 feedthrough. A unique JIS (Japanese Industry Standard) flange is also available. Assemblies can be used in harsh environments The sheath is made from stainless steel gooseneck inside the vacuum and pvc monocoil outside the vacuum environment. Termination types include SMA, ST or FC connectors or a ¼ inch OD x 2 inch long SS-303 ferrule. These durable assemblies can withstand use in harsh environments and offer good chemical resistance to kerosene, chlorinated solvent, toluene, ammonia, sodium hydroide 10%. They offer a wide temperature operating range of -40°F to +200°F. Fully customized assemblies are available CeramOptec will gladly customize vacuum sealed fiber optic assemblies from a single fiber of any size or for bundles of fibers, ranging from 2-3 fibers up to several thousand fibers. Other variations include using different fiber, flange, sheath and termination types and different cable lengths. Versions with extended temperature range and greater chemical resistance are available. A wide variety of remote monitoring and light delivery applications Vacuum Sealed Fiber Optic Assemblies are ideal for any application that requires remote monitoring or light delivery into a vacuum chamber. Specific uses include Raman spectroscopy, thin films, plasma research, semiconductor processing and military applications. |
