| New Facility for Cambridge Technology Europe
Exciting New Location in Munich Expands to Support Cambridge’s Growing Scan Head and Scan Components Market. Lexington, MA, September 21, 2009 – As the next step in the integration of Cambridge Technology and General Scanning Optical Scanning Products, the European sales & support operations of Cambridge Technology Europe, has relocated just outside Munich to Planegg, Germany, and increased its technical staff.
This operation provides sales, application and technical support for all Cambridge Technology and General Scanning products including both businesses/brands - the Cambridge Technology "Components" business and the high growth "Solutions" business (branded "General Scanning Solutions", now with a new complete line of integrated high performance scanheads and custom solutions).
Cambridge Technology Europe, which serves as the Europe sales, service, and application headquarters for Cambridge Technology Inc., has also increased the technical sales and support staff to provide the high level support familiar to Cambridge Technology customers for the combined scanning components business, and to support the growing scan head business. Robert Zopf, the Business Unit Manager for the Headquarters, explained that "Cambridge Technology Europe not only provides local technical and application support but also provides our customers with direct line of communication and a link to the Cambridge Technology management, factory, sales/support and engineering teams that we work very closely with."
Red Aylward, the president of Cambridge Technology, also commented that "We are very pleased to have and to grow our direct sales and support presence for our European market and customers.
