| CVI Melles Griot expands in-house production of crystalline
Albuquerque, NM - CVI Melles Griot expands manufacturing capabilities for their polarization component product lines. According to European General Manager Dr. Helmut Kessler “our new and extended capabilities in the field of crystal optics will increase our product offerings of mica waveplates, quartz waveplates, calcite polarizers, and general crystal optics”.
Product quality for mica waveplates is improved using the Steug and Reuter ™ proprietary cleaving process which allows for tighter tolerances, exceptional cleanliness, and higher performing polarization retardation.
CVI Melles Griot now has the capability to cleave crystals in house within arc seconds of the required orientation using an X-Ray diffractometer and advanced metrology system allowing for high precision control of the crystal axis position during the cleaving process. Tighter tolerances using this proprietary method result in improved angle performance and thermal stability of waveplates, especially at shorter ultraviolet wavelengths.

Rochester, NY - CVI Melles Griot announces new additions to its popular Rotor Drive shutter product family: flag shutter, paddle shutter, and 18 mm aperture shutter. According to the company Vice President, Robert Soales, “The new shutters are designed to fit the most restricted space envelopes and work with a variety of imagers, including 17 micron FPAs. They are easily customizable and can be used for a wide range of the IR imaging applications.”
The new products are based on the proprietary Rotor Drive shutter technology providing high reliability, long life, low power consumption and exceptional environmental durability. We are excited to launch these new products at the Photonics West Exhibition in San Francisco to give our customers an opportunity to see the new shutters in person and learn more how these products can benefit them.

Rochester, NY - CVI Melles Griot announces the expansion of its Rotor Drive shutter product family with 35 mm and 58 mm aperture shutters. According to VP of NA Sales and Worldwide Marketing, Robert J. Ireland, “The new products allow expanding the range of applications for Rotor Drive shutters to a greater range of detectors and packages.”
The new products are based on the proprietary Rotor Drive shutter technology providing high reliability, long life, and exceptional environmental durability. The products will be launched at the Photonics West Exhibition in San Francisco.

| CVI Melles Griot announces new FTL scan lenses for laser mar
Albuquerque, NM – CVI Melles Griot announces the expansion of its FTL F-Theta Lens product line, adding new standard 532 nm catalog products. The new lenses include designs with scan lengths from 160 mm to 218 mm, optimal for compact laser markers utilizing compact 532 nm (DPSS) lasers.
CVI Melles Griot first introduced its F-Theta product line in 2005 to serve the requirements of the growing market for laser marking systems. This consists of standard catalog products designed for the popular 1064 nm range as well as an extensive portfolio of custom OEM designs for leading laser marker manufacturers worldwide.

Carlsbad, CA - CVI Melles Griot announces the expansion of its DPSS laser product line with the ‘RHS’ series laser, delivering 300 mW at 660 nm. According to Vice President of Business Development, Lynn Strickland, “The RHS series delivers single-mode, red light in a compact, efficient package for a variety of scientific applications including DNA imaging, Ophthalmology and Metrology.”
Based on the company’s ‘BLS’ platform, a single-mode 457nm blue laser, which has been in production for nearly a decade, the product will be launched at the Photonics West Exhibition in San Francisco.
