Brandywine Photonics to Exhibit at SPIE DSS in Baltimore, MD
January 20, 2012 -- Philadelphia, PA -- Brandywine Photonics LLC designs and builds high-performance optical systems and components for Earth Sciences, Homeland Defense and Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR). Services include: optical design, opto-mechanical design, system engineering, detector fabrication and algorithms development. Brandywine Photonics’ core technologies include: diffraction gratings, science CMOS image sensors and all-reflective telescopes for applications such as hyperspectral imaging, spectroscopy, UV Resonant Raman imaging and low-light imaging.

Featured in our Booth #1641 will be our exclusive line of Compact Hyperspectral Advanced Imagers (CHAI™), based on Offner and Dyson spectrometers for the UV, VNIR, SWIR, and LWIR spectral regions. Our Compact Hyperspectral Advanced Imagers represent latest generation of science-grade pushbroom imaging spectrometers. Each instrument is individually configured with fore-optics, data acquisition, and GPS/INS modules to meet exacting specifications. All CHAI Imagers can be configured either for flight, tripod, or laboratory use, upon request.

Also on display will be an FBX-2 CMOS imager for imaging spectroscopy which has enhanced UV and NIR sensitivity. It also boasts high-speed, low noise and high dynamic range. Typical applications for the FBX-2 are biomedical imaging, earth sciences, aerial survey, defense, and homeland security.

Brandywine Photonics LLC (formerly Brandywine Optics) was founded in 1999 by John Fisher, a Senior Optical Engineer with more than 10 years of experience, at the time, designing and building hyperspectral sensors and instruments. His vision was, and still is, to meet the highly-specialized optical needs of the Earth Sciences, ISR and Machine Vision communities. Optical systems built by Brandywine Photonics include the Hyperspectral Imaging Coastal Observer (HICO), the UAV Capable Hyperspectral Imager (MicroSHINE) and the MX-20SW Spectrometer.
