| BaySpec and Andor Collaborate on New Portable 1064nm Raman
[Fremont, California] - BaySpec, Inc., a world leader in advanced spectral solutions, is pleased to announce the successful outcome of a collaboration on a new portable spectroscopic instrument that allows up to three times greater collection efficiency than standard Czerny-Turner spectrographs.
This powerful new instrument, the NunavutTM NIR 1064nm Long-wavelength Dispersive Spectrograph, provides flourescent-free spectral measurements and has been successfully demonstrated at this year's FACSS show in Reno, Nevada, Sept 29-Oct 1, 2008.
Based around the Andor iDus InGaAs detector array camera and Bayspec's high throughput Volume Phase Gratings (VPG) spectrograph, the instrument offers price/performance benefits whilst also boasting thermo-electric (TE) detector cooling down to -85ēC, USB2.0 plug and play connectivity, F/1.8 aperture and spectral resolution of 8 cm-1 alongside with 3000 cm-1 spectral coverage.

| BAYSPEC'S LONGWAVE DISPERSIVE NIR RAMAN SPECTROMETER
BaySpec, Inc., a volume supplier of NIR spectral engines, has introduced the latest in its line of high performance SuperGamutTM NIR Spectral Engines, the NunavutTM Long-wavelength NIR Raman Spectrograph. Designed to replace bulky, slow FT-IR systems, the NunavutTM features a dispersive f/2 design with no moving parts, high throughput, in a compact package. The NunavutTM is ideal for measuring biological/tissue samples around 1064nm thereby avoiding high fluorescent background at 785nm.
