Company Description
Aixtooling GmbH was founded in 2005 as a spin-off company of the Fraunhofer Institute for Production Technology IPT in Aachen, Germany. Today, the company covers the entire value chain for precision molding of optical glass lenses. Core competences of Aixtooling are the mold design, the process design and the manufacture of high-precision molding systems. In collaboration with the Fraunhofer IPT Aixtooling is also able to conduct feasibility studies and prototype series.
The technology of isothermal glass molding is suitible for the production of ready-to-use optics with shape accuarcies down to lambda/6. Applications can be found in different industries (laster technologies, medical industies etc.) and cover aspherical optics in different sizes, zylindrical optics, lens arrays, torical lenses and even free form elements. Recently Aixtooling has increased its efforts in the development of wafer based molding systems.
