| FPGA Imaging Toolkit Reduces Development Time and Cost Irvine, CA, March 15, 2011: Adsys Controls, Inc. announces the FPGA Image Processing Toolkit (FIPT), a commercial software package that provides developers a library of FPGA algorithms that serve as the building blocks for image processing application development. FIPT unleashes the power of FPGA processing by providing a foundational set of algorithms that the developer can then customize for their specific application – significantly reducing the costs associated with ground-level software development. Applications include: medical imaging, visual inspection, image tracking, optical communications, robotic vision, laser beam control and many others.
FIPT is compatible with an assortment of FPGAs where it can be in-lined with the customers’ own VHDL code. FIPT also provides for seamless integration with Adsys Controls' ProLight series of image processing platforms designed for National Instruments' FlexRIO FPGA cards. The toolkit can be imported and utilized with LabVIEW FPGA taking advantage of graphical programming of FPGAs.
Adsys Controls’ initial FIPT release occurred in October 2010, and included the algorithms for developing geometric filters, line filters, 1D and 2D FFTs, intensity filters, temporal filters, centroid computation and color decoding. Diagnostic utilities such as a A noise source library and image upload were was also provided in this release to test for algorithm robustness aiding in algorithm development and prototyping. Additional FIPT releases with new and expanded capabilities are planned to take place every 6-12 months.
Adsys Controls also provides custom hardware and software design services for the vision industry. Please contact us to determine how our FPGA Image Processing Toolkit can meet your application needs.

| Adsys Controls Introduces State-of-the-Art High Definition Video Processing Module Irvine, CA, February 25, 2011: Adsys Controls, Inc. announces their InSight Video Processing module, a state-of-the-art solution for on-board full motion video processing of High Definition and NTSC video streams. Weighing 68 grams and requiring less than six watts of power, this low-SWaP module performs advanced features including robust target tracking, image stabilization, MPEG-4 encoding, multi-sensor image fusion, video conversion and digital zoom. InSight provides high horsepower vision solutions for an array of ISR, remote sensing, ground-based, security, robotic, and scientific applications.
The module’s robust Input/Output (I/O) supports full HD (1080p, 1080i, 720p) Component Video and HDMI inputs and HD Component Video output, NTSC Composite Video input and output as well as RS-232 and Gigabit Ethernet communications. Expansion ports allow for HD-SDI, Camera Link, and GigE Vision Video inputs and outputs. InSight’s robust software features digitally stabilized video, multiple tracking algorithms capable of tracking morphing targets in cluttered scenes and through temporary obscurations, a HD Picture-In-Picture window of target of interest, HD to SD video conversion, and simultaneous multi-camera support (EO/IR). In addition, InSight’s multi-core video processor and multiple expansion ports offer FPGA video pre- and post-processing options, as well as alternative video I/O formats.
