POF-WL240 Series Power over Fiber Smart Monitoring System
MH GoPower has introduced the first power over fiber (PoF) enabled temperature, humidity, and partial discharge monitoring system for medium voltage switchgear equipment: the POF-WL240 Smart Monitoring System. The POF-WL240 Smart Monitoring System measures bus bar temperature, humidity, and partial discharge. These factors contribute to insulation failure thus resulting in damaging arc flash events. Key capabilities of the Smart Monitoring System include continuous monitoring of bus bar temperature, humidity, and partial discharge, and the ability to place sensors close to the source of partial discharge activity (in previously inaccessible areas such as on bus bars or near breaker contacts), resulting in more accurate sensor readings.

PHOTOVOLTAIC POWER CONVERTER
MH GoPower offers the only photovoltaic power converter (PPC) product line capable of delivering a wide range of power and voltage outputs. Power output levels range from tens of milliwatts to over 10 watts, while output voltage levels are possible from 4 volts to over 30 volts. MHGP’s PPC product line operates most efficiently with wavelengths in the range of 900 nm to 1,000 nm.

PoFP Series Power over Fiber Platform
Power over Fiber (PoF) is a novel power delivery technology which delivers electrical power by sending laser light through lightweight, non-conductive fiber optic cable to a remote photovoltaic receiver or photovoltaic power converter (PPC) to power remote sensors or electrical devices. MHGP’s innovative PoF solution provides three major benefits: (1) noise immunity, (2) voltage isolation, and (3) spark free operation.

The PoF Platform (PoFP) helps designers build their own PoF based product for unique applications. It includes an Arduino based, easy-to-use hardware and software platform that controls a class 1 compliant power interface module (PIM) and a sensor interface module (SIM). The PIM sends laser power to the SIM, and communicates with the SIM optically via a transmitter and receiver. The SIM provides completely voltage isolated, conditioned DC power up to ~250mW at 3.3V and 5V to customer electronics, such as sensors. The PoFP aims to make PoF more accessible to inventors, makers, and research teams, which will dramatically reduce development time, budgets, and the technical risk of innovative PoF products.
