Company Description
Featured Product: Polyimide-coated highly photosensitive SM bend-insensitive fibers for harsh environment applications

Celebrating 30 years of design, manufacture and commercialisation of specialty optical fibers, Fibercore Ltd is a World leader in its field supplying probably more polarization maintaining, erbium-doped and bend-insensitive singlemode fiber to more customers in more places than any other fiber supplier in the World. As well as our market-leading HB-G range, we offer rare-earth doped, photosensitive and cladding-pump fibers and have recently introduced our all-silica SM fibers for use in the UV.

SM-P Polyimide Coated Singlemode Fiber for Embedded and High Temperature Applications
* Ultra-low and low profile, bend insensitive fibers for Downhole Seismic Geophone Sensors and High Temperature Distributed Pressure and Temperature Sensors
* Survives composite embedding temperatures
* Maintains composite material strength when embedded

Beyond the 'Telecoms Revolution', Fiber Bragg Gratings (FBGs) are a key enabling technology for distributed strain and temperature sensors. These sensor systems are typically used for structural health monitoring of building, bridges, wind turbine blades, sub-sea umbilical cords, downhole applications and unstable hillsides. Our range of high germania singlemode fibers offer significantly higher photosensitivity than standard singlemode fibers without the high attenuation of a boron-germania co-doped fiber, allowing long arrays to be written with or without hydrogen loading.

To supplement this range of specialty SM fibers, Fibercore Ltd has introduced a range of polyimide coated, bend-insensitive singlemode fibers, specifically designed for seismic sensors and distributed sensors used in the highly challenging environments of industries like oil and gas exploration. Using the same polyimide coating of our HB-P range, these fibers offer the bend insensitivity and photosensitivity of our high NA Singlemode fibers with the added benefit of being able to withstand short-term temperatures as high as 400 degrees C (or 300 degrees C continuous).
