Travel to Barcelona

Barcelona, Spain

Welcome to Barcelona
Barcelona was founded over two thousand years ago on the Mediterranean coast and is located directly on the northeastern Mediterranean coast of Spain, and has a rich history. You can follow the traces of this history throughout the city: through the Gothic Quarter, built over the roman ruins, through the Eixample district with its Catalan art-nouveau, or modernista, buildings which is a showcase for Antoni Gaudi's dazzling architecture. All these traits have made Barcelona a first-class tourist destination, and the ideal place for meetings and congresses. In just over two decades, the city has completely transformed its infrastructures and facilities showing a dynamic and pioneering spirit. This beautiful city is full of what European cities are known for - outdoor markets, restaurants, shops, museums and churches.

Ciutat Vella "Old City"
The old heart of the city keeps beating, and running down the center of the area is the boulevard known as La Rambla. Built on the Roman city of Barcino, this medieval nucleus has taken on a new lease of life: palaces and Gothic churches have been restored and the neighbourhood has been reborn as a residential area. Visitors can begin exploring the old quarter that comprises a walk through 2,000 years of living history. The core centre of town, provides days of enjoyment for those looking to experience the life of Barcelona while the beaches the city was built upon provide sun and relaxation during the long periods of agreeably warm weather.
