An easy way to spread the word is to email the PDF of your conference to people you know, encouraging them to consider submitting an abstract. Don't have the PDF? Contact your SPIE Program Coordinator.

In addition, LinkedIn and Twitter are great tools to spread the word to your online network and possibly beyond. Check out these examples to get started:

Example 1:

LinkedIn I am chairing a conference on Solid State Lasers at SPIE Photonics West 2019. If you’re doing research in high-power solid state lasers and laser systems, visible and UV solid state lasers, or related technical areas, consider submitting an abstract! The due date is 25 July. Learn more here: https://spie.org/PWL/conferencedetails/solid-state-lasers. #PhotonicsWest

Example 2:

LinkedIn Are you working on R&D in autonomous air and ground sensing systems? Submit your work to the open call for papers at SPIE Defense + Commercial Sensing and present at the conference in Baltimore 2019. Abstracts are due 3 October, so don’t delay! http://spie.org/conferences-and-exhibitions/defense--commercial-sensing #SPIEDCS

Example 3:

Twitter Share your research in the Solid State #Lasers conference @PhotonicsWest 2019! We are accepting abstracts through 25 July, so submit soon. Hope to have you join us in San Francisco. https://spie.org/PWL/conferencedetails/solid-state-lasers
