Zhibin Wang on team at University of Toronto developing more efficient OLEDs

SPIE Member Zhibin Wang and Michael Helander (University of Toronto) have developed the world's most efficient organic light-emitting diodes on plastic, according to their paper published recently in the journal Nature Photonics. By using plastic, the cost of production can significantly be reduced, while designers are able to use a more durable material in their products.

The work was supervised by Zhenghong Lu, the Canada Research Chair in Organic Optoelectronics at the university.

The team has published several papers with SPIE, including conference presentations at SPIE Optics + Photonics in August.
