Ronald Phillips granted emeritus status by UCF

Dr. Ronald L. Phillips, along with eight other professors from the University of Central Florida (UCF), have been granted emeritus status at the University's Founders' Day ceremony. 

Phillips was the first engineering director for The Center for Research and Education in Optics and Lasers (CREOL), then the Center for Electro Optics and Lasers, when it was formed in 1984.

Phillips is an SPIE Fellow and has authored numerous papers for both SPIE Photonics West and SPIE Optics and Photonics.  His short course, Laser Beam Propagation for Applications in Laser Communications, Laser Radar, and Active Imaging, has seen long-term popularity at SPIE Defense, Security, and Sensing
