Tobin presents story of new Oak Ridge National Lab division 

SPIE Fellow Kenneth W. Tobin, director of the new Measurement Science and Systems Engineering (MSSE) Division at Oak Ridge, TN, National Laboratory (ORNL), will speak on the development of the division at a forum this month in Oak Ridge.

Tobin has been conference chair and program committee member at SPIE symposia including Electronic Imaging, Photonics West, and others, and has authored numerous papers for SPIE.

The MSSE Division was created in March 2008, and grew out of a history of interdisciplinary scientific and engineering research and development activities at ORNL. Composition of the new division began with consolidation of capabilities across ORNL in 2001 under the leadership of UT-Battelle.
