SPIE Member Michelle Povinelli (Univ. of Southern California) is among young innovators named to the 2010 TR35 list compiled by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology publication Technology Review. Povinelli was recognized for her work in understanding how light behaves, paving the way for better designs for telecommunications devices and solar cells.
Povinelli has published 15 papers with SPIE, and is scheduled to present 2 more at SPIE Photonics West in January. She is a member of the program committee for the Photonics West conference on Laser Resonators and Beam Control.
