Several SPIE Fellows and members are among the inaugural class of 2012 National Academy of Inventors (NAI) Charter Fellows inducted by the U.S. Commissioner for Patents last month.
The 101 innovators confimred to NAI Charter Fellows status were inducted by the U.S. Commissioner for Patents, Margaret Focarino, on 22 February in Tampa, Florida. The new Fellows represent 56 research universities and not-for-profit institutes, and collectively hold more than 3,200 U.S. patents.
