Applications are being accepted for ICO/ICTP young researcher award

Application deadline for the ICO/ICTP Gallieno Denardo Award for young researchers from developing countries is 10 December, Angela Guzmán, ICO Secretariat, has announced.

The award is made each year by ICO (International Commission for Optics) and ICTP (the Abdus Salam International Centre for Theoretical Physics, Trieste) to a young researcher who is active in research and has contributed to the promotion of research activities in optics in his or her own or another developing country.

Chair of the Award Committee is Amadhou Wagué, Univ. Cheikh Anta Diop, Senegal. ICTP representative on the awards committee is Joseph Niemela.

The award includes a cash prize from ICO, support for attending a three-week-long ICTP college, and an opportunity to give a seminar at ICTP.
