Heraeus celebrates 150th birthday of inventor Richard Küch

SPIE Corporate Member Heraeus Quarzglas,Richard Küch whose quartz crucibles are used in manufacturing products ranging from solar cells to semiconductor chips, is celebrating the 150th anniversary of the birth of one of the company's earliest and most prolific innovators. Inventor Richard Küch, born on 30 August 1860, joined Heraeus in 1890, and was awarded his first patent in 1891.

Heraeus Quarzglas is the worldwide largest manufacturer of synthetic fused silica for applications such as microlithography and telecommunications.
