Barton named associate VP for research at University of Arizona

Jennifer Barton

SPIE Fellow Jennifer Barton has been appointed to the new position of associate vice president for research at the University of Arizona. She previously served as head of the department of biomedical imaging, as well as assistant director at the BIO5 Institute, both at the University of Arizona.

Barton has a long history with SPIE, including serving on its Board of Directors from 2009 through 2011.  She was session chair at SPIE Photonics West, and the European Conferences on Biomedical Optics. Barton won the 1997 DJ Lovell Scholarship and was named a Fellow of the Society in 2008.
