Academia Mexicana de Óptica announces new officers

Raúl Rangel Rojo will take office as President of the Executive Committee the Academia Mexicana de Óptica (AMO) for a two-year term beginning 1 January, the organization  announced this week. Rangel Rojo is a Research Fellow at the Centro de Investigación Científica y de Educación Superior de Ensenada (CICESE).

Amalia Martínez García, a researcher at the Centro de Investigaciones en Óptica (CIO), will serve as Vice President in 2013-2014, and will succeed Rangel Rojo as President in 2015-2016.

Brenda Martínez Zérega, Universidad de Guadalajara, will serve as Executive Secretary beginning in January, and Víctor Ruíz Cortes, CICESE, as Treasurer.

AMO members include scientists, technologists, engineers, teachers, and others dedicated to optics in México.
