SPIE teams with Prismatic Magic to bring laser shows to K-12th grade students

14 May 2013

BELLINGHAM, USA -- As part of the SPIE, the international society for optics and photonics educational outreach mission, SPIE is sponsoring more than a dozen Prismatic Magic programs throughout the US, which “combine dynamic live presentations, captivating laser animations, and positively-themed music into an unforgettable experience that never fails to mesmerize audiences from start to finish.

The 60-minute program is an educational and dazzling demonstration of the science of lasers (light amplification by stimulated emission of radiation). The events consist of a twenty-minute crash course in laser science followed by an exciting forty-minute laser show, which illustrates exciting developments in the fields of optics and photonics.

In our efforts to increase awareness of optics and photonics, SPIE provides these and other educational resources to introduce the fascinating and rapidly expanding fields of optics and photonics into the classroom.
