Soft-laser use in the preoperative preparation and postoperative treatment of the patients with chronic lung abscesses
A. O. Ledin, V. G. Dobkin, A. Y. Sadov, et al.
We counted expedient to include different methods of the soft-laser use in the preoperative medicinal program and in the postoperative period. During the preoperative preparation the basic group patients together with standard treatment received the combined soft-laser therapy, which included intravenous laser blood irradiation (ILBI) by He-Ve laser and external transcutaneous irradiation of the abscess projection by semi-conductorial arrenite-gallium laser. During postoperative treatment with ILBI remarkable changes were observed in the functional activity of the T- and B- cell. The soft-laser use allowed to achieve improvement of quality and shortening of terms of the preoperative preparation of 1,4 times, to level the immunosuppressive influence of surgery to reduce amount of the postoperative complications in 1,8 times and duration of the postoperative period in 1,5 times.

A. V. Bolshunov, G. G. Litvinova, O. S. Ilyina, et al.
The efficiency of a diode laser with a wavelength 0,81 microns in treatment of an open-angle glaucoma is investigated. The diode LTP is a pathogenesis oriented method of treatment of an open angle glaucoma: it gives in improvement of outflow of an intraocular fluid, stabilization and improvement of visual functions for patients with initial and developed stages of disease at term of observation up to 12 months.
Low-level therapy in ophthalmology
O. P. Pankov
Extremely slow introduction of low-level laser therapy into the practice of ophthalmologists is restricted by the lack of good methodological recommendation and modern equipment adopted to the needs of ophthalmology. The most perspective is considered to be further improvement of the methods and the elaboration of the medical equipment, working in several wave bands, combined with magnetotherapy and working with the use of various modes of the modulation of the intensity of the luminous flux. It may be asserted that unlike the mode of continuous radiation, in some cases, the effectiveness of the treatment increases when the modulated light with the frequency of one to a few tens HZ is used. Moreover, the methods are being elaborated, when the modulation frequency of laser light and the biorhythms of man physiologic parameters are synchronized. Very perspective seems the computerization of the treatment process with the simultaneous electrophysiological control of the condition of visual functions.
Ultraviolet laser Al'mitsin-2 in treatment of fiber-cavernous lung turberculosis
A. M. Prochorov, Genadi P. Kuz'min, A. V. Kisletsov, et al.
The new method of treatment for destructive lung tuberculosis described in this work actually represents a modification a puncture or drainage technique used to have a local action on the tubercular cavern supplemented by an additional treatment with UV laser radiation. Medical laser 'Al mitsin-2' has next parameters: average radiation pover- 20 mW, pulse duration-6 ns, design- monoblok, beam extraction-fiber waveguide, readiness time-3 min, exposure time-0,1-99, 9 min, lifetime-5000 h, dimensions-240 X 330 X 440 mm, mass-27 kg. Among destructive tuberculosis patients 14,0 percent were discharged from the hospital with complete clinical effect without surgery, 42,1 percent patients underwent surgery, 21,1 percent of the patients were discharged with obvious improvement without surgery because they refused surgery and 22,8 percent of patients were contradicted due to a progress of destructive tuberculosis of lungs and severe accompanying diseases. Evaluating the overall results of the treatment using laser endocavital irradiation method for patients with destructive lung tuberculosis we consider this approach effective both for the improvement of the basic course of chemotherapy and stabilization of tuberculosis progressing in per-surgery period of treatment.
Laser-heat puncturing as highly effective method of post-tuberculous cystalgia treatment
The tuberculosis of an urine bladder in men develops is authentic less often, and recovery is authentic more often, than in the women. In 39,1 percent of the women with nephrotuberculosis and urocystis and urocystis tuberculosis a specific cystitides is finished in development of post- tuberculous cystalgia. One of starting mechanism of dysuria after the transferred urocystis tuberculosis in the women in menopause is hormonal insufficiency. The method of laser heat puncturing, developed by us, for the treatment this complication is highly effective, does not require additional introduction of medicines, can be executed as in hospitals, and in our-patient.

Primary mechanisms of action of low-intensity laser light on cells
The aim of these experiments was a direct measurement of changes in absorption of cellular monolayers under diode laser irradiation. First, a sensitive method for multichannel registration of absorption of a cell monolayer in range 500-860 nm was developed. Second, absorption spectra of intact HeLa cells and those after irradiation the monolayer with light at 670 and 820 nm were recorded. Third, the comparison of the absorption spectra and action was performed.
Perspectives of studying fluorescence of dental solid tissues
M. T. Alexandrov, Ilia M. Taubinsky, S. J. Kozma, et al.
As an object of study extracted human teeth were used. The whole was explored 30 teeth; measurements were conducted in intact regions of tooth: enamel, dentine, cement, root canal and in pathologically changed areas: caries of teeth and a solid teeth plaque. From present fluorescent spectrums of intact: enamel, dentine, cement; and of pathological: caries and teeth stone is seen that curves are likely shaped for each of the groups, but their amplitudes are not the same. Fluorescence maximum of all tooth areas falls on 700 nm, herewith possible to say that, spectrum shapes are specific for each tooth area, that can be used in diagnostic purposes, for example when processing a carious cavity. As to florescence intensity that teeth stone possesses the maximum of fluorescence, then an area submitted to caries, intact areas possess a weak fluorescence.

Eugene V. Stepanov, Pavel V. Zyrianov, Valerii A. Miliaev, et al.
An analyzer of 13CO2/12CO2 ratio in exhaled air based on lead-salt tunable diode lasers is presented. High accuracy of the carbon isotope ratio detection in exhaled carbon dioxide was achieved with help of very simple optical schematics. It was based on the use of MBE laser diodes operating in pulse mode and on recording the resonance CO2 absorption at 4.2 micrometers . Special fast acquisition electronics and software were applied for spectral data collection and processing. Developed laser system was tested in a clinical train aimed to assessment eradication efficiency in therapy of gastritis associated with Helicobacter pylori infection. Data on the 13C-urea breath test used for P.pylori detection and obtained with tunable diode lasers in the course of the trail was compared with the results of Mass-Spectroscopy analysis and histology observations. The analyzer can be used also for 13CO2/12CO2 ratio detection in exhalation to perform gastroenterology breath test based on using other compounds labeled with stable isotopes.

Eugene V. Stepanov, Pavel V. Zyrianov, Valerii A. Miliaev, et al.
Middle IR tunable diode lasers were applied to studies of pulmonary excretion of endogenous carbon monoxide (CO). Variations of the CO content level in exhaled air of healthy nonsmokers were investigated for different environmental conditions with the applied laser technique. Correlation of the obtained data with atmospheric CO contamination and elevated oxygen content were studied as well as diurnal variations of the endogenous CO in exhalation was observed. Criteria for correct conditions of the endogenous CO detection in breath could be derive don this basis. Developed laser approach and methods were applied for the analysis of the excreted CO level in different diseases like bronchial asthma, cystic fibrosis, idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, anemia and hepatitis. Laser based close-to-real-time monitoring of the endogenous CO elimination with breath in the course of different dynamic tests was demonstrated to be informative in studies of blood oxygen transport and pH variations in tissues for different challenges tests in human physiology.

Single-breath NO detection with tunable diode lasers for pulmonary disease diagnosis
Eugene V. Stepanov, Pavel V. Zyrianov, Valerii A. Miliaev
An analyzer aimed for single-breath detection of exhaled endogenous NO is described. It is based on lead-salt MBE tunable diode lasers (TDL) operating at 5.4 micrometers spectral region. Specially designed high sensitive and fast acquisition system used in combination with the Herriott multipass gas cell allows 1 ppb concentration sensitivity to exhaled NO with about 0.5 s temporal resolution. Careful selection of the used analytical spectral region ensures high NO detection selectivity in the conduction if elevated water vapor and carbon dioxide content in exhaled air. Due to the TDL high spectral resolution the analyzer is also insensitive to the other numerous endogenous substances that could be present in exhaled air. The TDL NO analyzer was tested in measuring endogenous NO content in exhalation of patients suffering from different pulmonary diseases as well as of healthy control subjects. Some single-breath NO trace specific in asthma and COPD was observed allowing differentiation of these diseases with the exhalation NO test.
