Thermodynamics research on optical system based on finite element method

Paper Abstract

Thermodynamics researches have been carried out on the optical system in the detector in conventional munitions. First, temperature on the surface of the optical lens and the heat flux have been calculated with CFD method. Second, thermal strain of the optical lens has been simulated using ANSYS thermal analysis function. Finally, it arrives to the conclusion that the bigger the Mach number is, the higher the temperature and the severer the thermal strain will be. When the optical detector is moving with the speed of 2 and 3 Mach number, the aerodynamic heating is so serious that insulation measures should be taken to protect the optical system.
