Paper Abstract

We examinate how holographic deflection matrices could be used to perform optical space-division switching. Under realistic assumptions it seems possible to achieve by this way a capacity of 1,000 optical circuits. We are studying the feasability of such system by using photothermoplastics as holographic recording material.
