Paper Abstract

The liquid phase epitaxial (LPE) growth of Hgl-xCdxTe layers from Te-rich solutions using an open-tube, horizontal-slider apparatus is reviewed. Phenomena and relationships relevant to LPE growth from Te-rich solutions, as well as problems encountered in preparing detector grade Hgl-xCdxTe are discussed. Results of electrical and optical characterization of the LPE-grown layers are also included.
