Paper Abstract

The Light Beam Readout (LBRO) imaging system has been found to display a residual potential similar to that observed in the Xerographic (XR) imaging system. Both of these imaging systems utilize amorphous selenium as the photoactive element in their image receptors. It has been proposed that the phenomenon of residual potential in amorphous selenium photoreceptors is due to bulk trapping effects. An experimental method of measuring residual potential in amorphous selenium photoreceptors which may be used to test this bulk formation theory is presented.
