Paper Abstract

The rapid evolution of integrated circuit technology is now impacting digital image processing displays. As a result, new display concepts are now emerging with capabilities and speeds previously unattainable. Examples include, multiple simultaneous displays, large array storage (2048 x 2048), multiple display storage, real-time interactive convolution, interactive zoom and roam, and dynamic image presentation. The basis for these new capabilities is both technology and the human interface to the display. Each is discussed. One implementation of an advanced display system is described.
