Paper Abstract

It is well known, that output power of ion argon laser increases with square of discharge current density. In modern argon ion lasers the density of discharge current reaches 1000 A/cm for the tube of 3 mm internal plasma bore and in such constructions the heat dissipated per 1 cm of the tube lenth is approximately 300 W. This very difficult working conditions have created lots of technological problems which ought to be solved. The laser tube should ensure:- permanent vacuum integrity- ability to disperce high power- high resistance against thermal shocks- high sputter resistance of elements defining discharge bore
