Paper Abstract

When electromagnetic radiation is incident on a fluctuating surface, it is scattered in a manner that is governed by the shape and material characteristics of the surface. Synthetic aperture radar is an imaging system that attempts to classify the nature of the earth's surface by repeatedly emitting a short pulse of micro-wave radiation and recording the back-scattered field.
