Paper Abstract

A non-contact method of experimental stress analysis which does not suffer from many of the restrictions of conventional methods and may be used under service environmental conditions is doubly attractive. Pulsed laser holographic techniques display considerable potential for use in this way. One of these methods, Electronic Speckle Pattern Interferometry, is being developed for measuring rotating component strains, at The City University. Results achieved so far display interference fringe information for component tangential velocities over the whole range 0-150 m s-1
