Paper Abstract

Due to the need for surface characterization, rigorous vector theories of diffraction from microrough surfaces have been developed in the recent years. A brief description of the integral theory implemented in our laboratory is made. A new formalism based on a representation of the impedance operator has been completed for two dimensional surfaces and should provide a suitable tool for the precise numerical study of three dimensional micro-rough surfaces in the next years.
