Paper Abstract

Automated evaluation and fringe interpolation of holographic interferograms is accomplished by electronic phase shifting techniques. However, the presence of speckles limits finally the accuracy and the spatial resolution for objects with diffusely scattering surfaces. Heterodyne holographic interferometry is well suited for scientific applications, where very high accuracy (1/1000 of a fringe) is needed. Quasi-heterodyne holographic interferometry with video processing is adequate for industrial applications, where high speed and medium accuracy (1/100 of a fringe) is required.
