Paper Abstract

Large-scale and high-quality Video-On-Demand technology has been a hot topic to researchers. In recent years, the development of cloud computing theory and virtualization cluster technology also provides a new solution of thoughts to the construction of large-scale Video-On-Demand system. This paper presents a design of Distributed Video-On- Demand System Based on Cloud Computing (DCC-VOD System), which can be widely applied to various large and medium network environment. It also introduces the components of the core technology, focusing on the implementation of the load balancing server studies for distributed system. Finally, results of comparison tests in the simulated environment show that this system not only can enhance the server performance and resource utilization, but also increase the number of accessed users as much as possible. It greatly improves the reliability and stability of the system, and achieves high cost-effective to meet the current needs of the variety of medium-sized and even the large-scale-sized network environment of video-on-demand.
