A new method for testing the radius of infrared cylindrical lens

Paper Abstract

Due to the special properties of cylindrical lens, the testing of it is more difficult than that of spherical lens. In this paper, a new method for testing the radius of infrared cylindrical lens is introduced, and the error analysis is discussed. The method is presented based on the real ray tracing method. The parallel beam incidents on the cylindrical lens and the width of the beam reflected from the cylindrical lens is measured by CCD. The width of the rays is related to the radius, so the radius of the infrared cylindrical lens can be calculated.
