Static and dynamic strain fiber Bragg grating sensor interrogation using a monolithically integrated echelle diffractive grating

Paper Abstract

We report on the development of a miniaturized wavelength interrogator for the interrogation of fiber Bragg grating static and dynamic strain sensing. The interrogator being developed is based on a monolithically integrated echelle diffractive grating and works in two independent modes, one for static and one for dynamic strain measurements. The interrogator is evaluated for static strain of 400 με and a dynamic peak-to-peak strain of 200 με at 200 Hz. Initial results show that these two interrogation modes can be performed simultaneously and reliably.
