Paper Abstract
The present status of laser fusion researches in Japanis described. In the first, the fast ignition
laser fusion is the high-light of high power laser applications. The recent progress of fast ignition
research project at Osaka University: FIREX will be reported.
As the industrial applications of laser produced neutron and X-ray, it is explored how they are
used for diagnosing the chemical and physical processes in fuel cell and other chemical
energyconverters. These applications are also important topics of this talk.
As the laser fusion reactor technology, we will also present "UV Laser Ablations and Erosions to
Investigate Fusion Reactor Surface Material Interactions, Hydrogen Storage Thin Layers
Formations and the Related Subjects."
