Experimental estimation of Zernike mode correlations in a water cell

Paper Abstract

In this paper we present the results of anisoplanatic effect modeling in a water cell. Providing a temperature gradient between two metal plates with different temperatures simulates the atmospheric turbulence. The experimental and theoretical phase correlation functions for two distant apertures were compared. Numerical method was suggested for estimation of optical system anisoplanatism in turbulent atmosphere. Finite value of turbulence outer scale was taken into account. The method permitted to estimate anisoplanatism in inhomogeneous atmosphere with any distribution of turbulence parameters over the beam path. The influence of Cn2 distribution on anisoplanatic effect was demonstrated.
