Study of GMM dynamic characteristics based on optic fiber measurment technology

Paper Abstract

Based on the strain characteristic of fiber Bragg grating (FBG) and the magnetostriction characteristics of giant magnetostrictive material (GMM), GMM-FBG dynamic strain transformer with ferromagnetic loop is designed. By using FBG dynamic strain demodulation scheme of Coarse Wavelength Division Multiplexer (CWDM) linear edge filter, the GMM-FBG dynamic strain transformer system is established for realizing the dynamic signal detection. The dynamic characteristics of different structural GMM are analyzed by finite element method. The theory simulation and experimental results show that the dynamic characteristics of GMM do not change with frequency in the range of 50-1000 Hz and the system can realize dynamic detection of low frequency signal.
